I would suggest that Katie's statement would make a lot more sense to outsiders if she replaced the word "physical" with "theoretical."

Great inaugural newsletter, Ari. Is there enough physical capacity in the supply chain to meet current demand? Perhaps on paper. But chassis, trucks, and employees don't work on paper. Getting all parts of the supply chain to "do their part" requires all that equipment and personnel and freight be in the right place at the right time -- and has that ever happened?

Thank you Ari for including me in your news letter. I have a case to share with you on how to ease up congestion. Are all of the rails operational 24/7? If so, why is the industry pushing truckers to perform their work during the peak congestion times? One trucker I have recently spoken to mentioned that most of their drivers are working now working 12 AM - 11 AM shifts. To quote "We went from being able to handle on average 160 new containers a day, down to at times only 45 a day. With the restrictions being placed on us from the ramps and SS Lines we were shutting down our operations by Noon - 1pm at times. The new positive move we did, to try and keep up with the ramp's new restrictions, is to start a Midnight - 11am shift of drivers. This is our first week of doing it and we have already seen an increase in productivity that we can do. We are still at the mercy of the ramps, so by 11am - Noon we are starting to have a huge reduction in productivity as by then all ramps are at capacity and our drivers then just get rejected". This detail in my view needs to be shared across the country. We have tried everything else....right?
